  • Leon Vynehall is an artist of distinct talent and we are honoured to host him for our next Tengu Presents on November 27th in collaboration with Hidden Agenda. Support on the night from rising talent, Bé. British musician and producer Leon Vynehall is part of a vanguard of artists expanding the ambition of electronic music. Highly respected for his musical output, he has established himself as a truly authentic artist, capable of releasing bodies of work that are layered with musicality and craftsmanship. Those who have spent time with Vynehall’s music over the past decade will know how much it is rooted in family. ‘Nothing Is Still’ was dedicated to Vynehall’s grandparents and traced their emigration from London to New York in the 1960s, his own journey to Los Angeles striking some distant, ghostly parallels with theirs. 2014’s ‘Music For The Uninvited’ was inspired by the funk, soul and hip-hop tapes his mum used to play on car journeys to and from school. But on ‘Rare, Forever’ (Ninja Tune), he investigates for the first time who he is as a person and artist in the very moment, rather than looking to the past to discover what and who has shaped him. He showcases all the strings to his bow - creating music that’s borderless and unbound. Bé is the spectre sonic identity of Dublin-based artist and engineer Viva Dean. After releasing "I Live Here" EP with Brian McNamara early last year, she has established herself as a host of monthly bedtime radio show “Hold Me” on Dublin Digital Radio, and thrown herself into learning to mix. So far she has guested for Gash Collective on Radio 80K and Raidió na Life as well as WWW and other ddr residents. She brings dance floor focused blends that echo the bedtime smoothness of her radio show while ascending to the dizzying heights of longing that come with a chronic lack of communal dance space. Elsewhere she indulges in visual expression, maths teaching and electronics tinkering.
