As of every year we are pleased to invite you to the 4th edition of our charity event in support of the NGO Survival International. A very special gathering in a secretly hidden garden inside Berlin's city circle, uniting family and friends and providing up to date information on indgenous people issues with the goal of enhancing awareness upon this topic.
/ Why we do this?
We want to show solidarity with all tribes around the world. Solidarity for the millions of contacted indigenous, who belong to the most discriminated against of our societies, to the many, who died while resisting and to the last remaining uncontacted tribes, who live on the brink of existence.
Since the election of Brazil's new president Jair Bolsonaro, things have been getting worse for Amazonia's indigenous tribes. Not only in Brazil, but all over the world tribespeople still have to fight post-colonial powers in the name of multinational companies and corrupt governments. Their natural habitats are being destroyed, cultural heritage is being commercialized and resisting leaders are being killed, while the rest of their tribal members are forced into our economic system.
From thousands of uncontacted tribes in the 19th century, today only 100 remain alive. They live in the last "unexplored areas” on earth, being constantly threatened by logging, resource explorations, farming, and touristic projects. Any contact with these civilizations can cause a genocide, as they are not resistant to outside diseases.
/ Who are you supporting?
Survival International: "We fight for tribal peoples’ survival. We stop loggers, miners, and oil companies from destroying tribal lands, lives, and livelihoods across the globe. We lobby governments to recognize indigenous land rights. We document and expose the atrocities committed against tribal people and take direct action to stop them.
We give tribal peoples a platform to speak to the world. We’ve had over 200 victories since 1969, but our work is far from over and we need your help."
