CHARLIE STACEY QUARTET - 3pm
Charlie Stacey is a UK pianist and keys player who has worked with many of the biggest names on the UK jazz scene, including Yussef Dayes, Nubya Garcia and Ezra Collective. He was featured on Yussef Dayes' 2019 single Duality, and contributed keys to the Yussef Dayes Trio's 2020 album Welcome to the Hills. He also released an album, The Word was Made Phresh, with his band Phresoul on Italian label Hyperjazz in 2019.
On Sunday he will be performing some of his original compositions inspired as much by the modal post-bop of John Coltrane and Miles Davis as by modern artists he has been inspired by such as Flying Lotus and Thundercat.
Performing live alongside Charlie will be Oscar Ogden (drums), Moyses dos Santos (bass) and Xvngo (tenor sax).
TOM SKINNER & Special Guest - 6pm
Drummer, composer and producer Tom Skinner is a central figure in the in the London music scene. Tom released his debut self-titled solo record under the alias Hello Skinny to critical acclaim, went on to collaborate with veteran New York composer and trombonist Peter Zummo, and is an original member of Sons Of Kemet. Tom is constantly pushing his musical limits in different directions, always on the hunt for new sounds inspired by the music, people and places he’s found along the way.
On Saturday 31st July, Tom will be performing with a frequent collaborator and tenor saxophonist whose relentlessly evolving career includes performances with the Sun Ra Arkestra, Floating Points and Polar Bear, among many others.
