Secretsundaze celebrates 19-years in the game with a day & night party at Oval Space, The Pickle Factory and Canvas on the Saturday of August Bank Holiday, a welcome ray of sunny regularity to close out the summer months.
Our birthday, a Sundaze staple-diet, has delivered some of our most memorable parties of recent times, and the thought of celebrating the occasion with our nearest and dearest in less than 6 months has us beaming ear-to-ear.
In Oval Space, we welcome German’s legendary Roman Flugel, who’s deft touch has graced some of dance music finest moments over the past 4 decades. Call Super, a household name and one of our favourite DJ / producers going, is a perfect co-pilot, joining James and Giles and New-York upstart Gabrielle Kwarteng, who’s caught our attention with a number of earworm podcasts and Lot Radio shows of late.
In Pickle, it’s a trio of Secretsundaze debuts with a decidedly left of field persuasion. Niave boss and Radio Quantica co-founder Violet represents Lisbon, whilst closer to home we welcome object blue fresh from a mind-warping Essential Mix last year, and Kasra V, who’s Dekmantel podcast perfectly demonstrates his flair for the sensational.
In Canvas, a newly opened 400-cap space adjacent to Pickle, we doff our cap to broken beat and soulful sounds. Swiss selector extraordinaire and Patchwork founder Sassy J, a regular at CoOp in Plastic People’s halcyon, is joined by the maestro Kaidi Tatham!. Once dubbed "the UK's Herbie Hancock" by Benji B, we’re more than a little stoked to have a real musical genius help us celebrate the birthday. Add Errol and Alex Rita, founders of club night, concert series, record label and biweekly NTS Radio show Touching Bass into the mix and it’s a silky smooth concoction.
During the day, Oval’s sun-trapped terrace will be in full swing, as Secretsundaze extended fam Heels & Souls, who most recently started a killer reissue label, invite fellow deep-digging DJ duo RAW SILK down for a 6-hour jamboree.
Our Birthday parties typically sell out in advance, and with the demand for events post-lockdown we’re expecting a big response.
If you work for the NHS, then we'd like to thank you for your tireless work over the past 12 months by offering you a concessionary ticket. Email us on [email protected] and we can sort this out. We know that COVID has had a huge impact on many people’s lives and as such have set aside a number of concessionary tickets for others that need it too - feel free to contact us if this is you.
Though we’re excited about returning to the dancefloor, we recognise that the UK recovery roadmap is subject to revisions. We will only go ahead with the event when we’re confident that it can happen safely under government sanctioned protocols. Should the event be forced to reschedule due to Covid, tickets will be transferrable to new dates, or refundable. The booking fee is refundable at RA’s discretion and is not something we are able to control.
Please note, a £1 'Green Tax' is charged on tickets and guestlist for all Secretsundaze events. This will contribute to Dance 2 Sustain, a green initiative aimed at reducing the amount of waste and carbon emissions across the organisation. This includes banning single-use plastic cups at our events and carbon offsetting all flights that we book.
