  • Great Southern Nights, in association with Seventy Seven and BNW Events present, 'Please Remain Seated'. An event series that aims to celebrate club culture while exploring the viability of club events in the wake of social distancing and venue restrictions For the final show of this series we will be pushing this exploration further by creating an entirely unique club experience. Featuring Deepchild (performing as Acharné) and Elizabeth Maniscalco who will be performing a very special live Ambient set. Both artists represent the depth of talent and immense creativity that can be found within Sydney electronic music community. The Quietest Voice 'An Ambient Conversation' will be a full sensory experience unlike anything you've ever seen within the walls of Club 77. Expect something more sacred, interactive and meditative. *ATTN - WE NEED YOUR HELP* As part of this event we are asking participants to record their answer to this question, "what does your quietest voice say?" as an open call to self inquiry. When we settle and are left with stillness, what do we hear when we stop to listen? Participants can submit their audio recordings as an .mp3 file (using a smartphone to record ie. Voice Memo app on iphone) in the form of a short poem, a reflection, a few words, a rant, a hope or a question. Please keep answers to 60 seconds or less in length and email your files to [email protected] by Monday 23rd November. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Acharné is an ambient / experimental project of producer and DJ Rick Bull (better known as Deepchild), based around using simple digital tools to dig for meaning in the familiar. Previously booked by SXSW in Texas and the stunning Funkhaus in Berlin (Nils Frahm etc), Acharné is an exercise in improvised drone work, audio-montage, ethereal hauntology, and curiously broken classical memes. A project exploring ambiguous loss, dissociation and artifice, in the hope that beyond the stifling audio nostalgia of 'late capitalism', we might find a liminal listening space where new things can grow. Elizabeth Maniscalco - Little vignettes heard through a radio broadcasting from the spirit world... The genre-transcendent producer, songwriter and vocalist plays an exclusive ambient set between wonky, dark club offerings; releases on Dim Mak Records and Fools Gold; remixes for Kitsune, Tokimonsta, and The Kite String Tangle; and songwriting for Kimbra, Flight Facilities and more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tickets are $49.00 and include a 2 hour complimentary drink package *Due to optimal viewing limitations and the government mandated capacity and social distancing restrictions this event will be held over two sessions on the night with each session being limited to a maximum of 30 people.
