If you know us well, you'll know how much we love a birthday party. So we're pretty excited to be celebrating two years of throwing these parties in April - at the place where it all began for us, Bal Fashions.
To help with the celebrations we're flying in Bárbara Boeing from Brazil for the night. She co-founded and runs the Alter Disco parties in her home of Curitiba, which "started as an alternative to the existing environments, [as] an inclusive space that sought to bring together otherwise segregated groups of people". We saw a distinct similarity between our two parties, and have a feeling she'll be a perfect fit for the Ballroom.
Just in the last year she's contributed to Stamp The Wax's Diggers Directory series, as well as recording mixes for Dekmantel, Les Yeux Orange, and Ransom Note, plus a standout performance at Nuits sonores for Boiler Room. Check out any of the above for a taste of what she's up to.
Alongside her we'll have our usual residents Joi La Frique, Nonna Fab, and Dr Smorsli on hosting duties. They'll all be playing through our unique audiophile sound system, in one of the best sounding rooms Sheffield has on offer.
There will also be cake.
As ever, capacity is limited due to the size of the venue. We'd always rather there's space to dance than make a few extra quid. As such, 100 tickets will be released in advance, with a small amount held back for the door on the night.
