Start: 20:00 21.10.2021
Sonic Ground is proud to present the re-launch of their workshop concept event at the beloved Neukölln location arkaoda. After the postponed event in March 2020, we're happy to be able to host this event with Emme and Debbie Chia.
After successful club and festival events in Münich, Sonic Ground is re-launching their concept event for showcasing the behind-the-scenes of improvised live electronic music in an open setting. Inviting artists and friends with a similar inclination, the Berlin collective puts the focus this time on an intimate workshop with the artists before their live sets.
For our first event we're happy to host Emme Moisés from Modular Field who will be participating in an hour long "round-table" workshop from 8pm onwards showcasing different parts of her live-set alongside resident artists from Sonic Ground.
Emme will be focusing on showcasing her evolution of building a modular setup for live performance - the discussion will be moderated and guests will be encouraged to ask questions and participate in the discussion.
Our second guest for the night is Debbie Chia, who will be doing a DJ set downstairs in the club area. Debbie Chia from Singapore is a DJ who recently moved to Berlin. With house and techno as her foundation, Debbie continuously adds new sounds to her sets, from 80s to jackin’, acid, funk and more representing her current place in time. Debbie is co-owner of the record label Midnight Shift and plays as Lily’s Rose, pushing a raw, analog and emotional sound. She is also making meditative ambient and healing sets in the intersection of music and spirituality and a former participant of the RBMA.
The workshop starts in the bar area at 20:00. From 21:30 onwards, we'll move downstairs to
the club area for Live and DJ sets.
Current 2G regulations apply in the club area - please bring a vaccination QR code or proof of recovery.
