Off the back of a string of sold-out nights in Oxford, Testpress and Spice Lounge have joined forces for a no-holds-barred night of full-spectrum UK music. This one is not one to be missed.
Borai [ jungle set ]
Heading up the bill we’ve got Addison Groove [Gutterfunk]. The former dubstep mainstay is now pushing a new sound out of the depths of Bristol underground. Taking influences from Chicago Juke and Footwork, he seamlessly flies around the pitch fader, with his sets taking you anywhere between electro and jungle. With stripped down drum machine beats, acid basslines and hip-hop / booty-leaning vocals, we can’t wait to hear what he’s got in store for our London launch night.
Following on from AG is Borai [Club Glow/Higher Level Records] The Bristol based artist has been flinging himself into every possible avenue of musical activity since first being bitten by the jungle bug in the early 90s. With more than 15 years’ experience at the controls, at Cell200 he’s returning to his junglist roots. Prepare yourself for fresh dubplates, and an onslaught of the finest breakbeats. You have been warned.
Opening up the night is fresh-faced Will Hofbauer. The London local has been steadily making a name for himself from his position as el capitano of Third Place Records, and as a resident for Co-Select. His recent production debut over at NY’s HOMAGE Records, 'Who wants to be a Willionaire?', has been making waves across the scene, with support from Bradley Zero and Gilles Peterson, and if you love it as much as we do, you’re in for a treat.
Extra support supplied by the Testpress residents.
