Superstition is ecstatic to welcome the Bristolian duo Giant Swan with their incredible live performance this March to continue our 5th birthday celebrations. Giant Swan are renowned for their turbo-charged live sets putting their own unique raucous spin on techno. The brainchild of Robin Stewart and Harry Wright, the pair bring their crossbreed of hypnotic bass, industrial percussion and disorientating energy to Village Underground for the last gig on their eponymous album cycle released on their own imprint, Keck.
Another strong debut coming from Brooklyn’s underground scene, Volvox. Volvox is known for her tough, stripped-back techno and groovy, acid-flavored sets. Her residencies at Unter and Jack Department are the works of a legend, and the past year has seen her release her debut production on Ostgut Ton. Her dirty, acid-drenched sets notoriously steal the show, and 2019 saw her quickly take to global stages in a whirlwind of performances. We’re excited to bring her to Superstition to join this already stacked line up.
Joining Giant Swan is Amsterdam-based DJ, promoter and NTS radio host, Elena Colombi. Elena is known for her inspired sets which are open-minded and mind-altering, seeking to toy with the emotions of listeners and dancers via shifts in intensity, tone, light and shadow. With her distinctive, truly unique approach, in part thanks to a widescreen grasp of different musical cultures, sounds and rhythms, she has just launched her new label, Osàre! Editions.
The Italian duo Tapefeed keep rocking their Superstition residency with their signature brand of powerfully apocalyptic broken-beats techno.
Completing the line up is London-born, Chinese-Malaysian producer, writer and DJ, Flora Yin-Wong. The PAN-affiliated artist works with field recordings, dissonance, and influences from contemporary club culture.
