Goodness: Pearson Sound, Stenny, Shannen SP, Proc Fiskal & More

  • Goodness sees to the Bristol edition of their third birthday celebrations with another cracking lineup.
  • >>> IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT <<< Sadly, due to Skee Mask falling ill, he will no longer be able to make the show tonight. We’re extremely sorry for everyone who was looking forward to seeing him – and we’re working on rescheduling a date for him later on this year. This is obviously a massive shame, and we are – as he is – absolutely gutted, but personal health has to come first. It's not all bad news though... Hessle Audio boss and UK dance music legend Pearson Sound has kindly agreed to step in at the final hour. His unique take on all things bass music has made him one of the most important players in UK underground music culture and we're really happy he could join us at such short notice We’re still super gassed for the party –– see you in the dance ✨ GOODNESS 28.02 –––– THE LOCO KLUB, BS1 6QH This February we’re celebrating 3 years, and we’ll be doing it the Goodness way. Joining us again is man of the moment Skee Mask, on the back of a 2019 that saw him cement himself as one of the underground dance scene’s most vital artists. Following a string of excellent 12s on his own ‘Skee Series’ Ilian Tape imprint, his ability to effortlessly map the territories between pretty much any dance style – whether techno, footwork, trap, global bass sounds & more – is why the post-Compro hype hasn’t showed any signs of slowing yet. Stenny’s debut LP – ‘Upsurge’, just released on Ilian Tape – is easily one of the best to have dropped this year (as many of the end of year lists will testify). He’s long been central in making the IT sound one of the most distinct around, and Upsurge feels like an apt representation of where the label is at the moment: mercurial, original, and not easy pin down by atmosphere, genre, and mood. It’s so banging, check it out if you havent heard it yet. Accompanying them for a probable all-night-long b3b is Neighbourhood boss TASHA. First making a name for herself in the dnb scene, she went on to hold down a combined 7 years of airtime on Rinse FM and Radar Radio, whilst throwing parties at the fabled but now-closed Plastic People in Shoreditch. Neighbourhood clubnights followed, and led to the label, which has since seen some sick releases from the likes of Randomer, Forest Drive West, and Metrist. Sick DJ, big talent. Shannen SP heads up room 2: NTS regular and co-curator alongside Kode9 of Hyperdub’s monthly ‘Ø’ parties at Corsica Studios, her drum-heavy DJ style looks to prioritise the international, to endorse the non-eurocentric when it comes to techno and bass music. Fellow Hyperdub affiliate Proc Fiskal joins her, whose esoteric bass sound is loosely based in grime, but takes with it footwork & IDM to make an eski hybrid that is puzzling, personal, and incredibly unique. Manchester-based DJ and visual artist Izzy Bolt is with us again to finish up the bill.
