'A Lively Mind' Album Launch Party with Paul Oakenfold
On Sunday 28th May the mighty Paul Oakenfold comes to London for a world exclusive performance at Canvas and headlines one of the biggest and best line-ups in the capital this summer. This rare performance stands as the official launch for Paul’s latest artist album ‘A Lively Mind’ due out on his own label – Perfecto – Monday on 5th June; and promises to be a roadblock party from one of the most exciting artists of our generation.
For nearly 20 years Paul Oakenfold has been a pioneer, an innovator and a creator; constantly pushing boundaries and driving dance music towards the global phenomenon it has now become. Paul remains one of the most influential figures in dance music today and this is destined to be yet another magical performance from the man still riding the crest of his wave.
Oakey will take to the stage in Canvas 3 with his trademark high energy sounds spliced with tracks and mixes from the forthcoming album. Joining him in the main room will be Anjunabeat’s brightest stars Above and Beyond. After the success of the release of their first album ‘Tri-State’ these three amigos can do no wrong and you can expect an awesome mix from these Trance maestros along with support from Wildchild’s Reece Elliot.
Fresh from their sell out night and UK tour Canvas 1 heads into Space for the night with current house sensations The Soul Avengerz. Positiva’s latest signing will be up for celebrating the launch of their latest release ‘Sing’ EP alongside fellow London Boys Hoxton Whores; both eager to show off their latest deck and production talents in eclectic House.
Having remixed for the likes of Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, Future Sound Of London and Moby, Welsh duo, Hybrid open up proceedings in Canvas 2 with their unique sound of cinematic infused House laced with a touch of broken beat. Joining the breaks boys comes a pioneer in progress/tribal House. In his home country of Portugal Rui Da Silva is highly sought after as a DJ and remixer having worked with artists as broad as Danny Tenaglia to Jennifer Lopez. Lastly, bursting onto the scene in an array of spangley beats & 80s electronica come CagedBaby, currently tipped to be the biggest sound of the summer.
As you head towards the glitziest of the Canvas spaces and into the Chandelier Room you will be met by CheekyPeople. Since its birth in 2003, the phenomenal success of Cheekypeople has established itself as one of London's best House nights. Hosting packed rooms at both Subliminal Sessions with Erick Morillo and the Bora Bora they remain one of the best loved party outfits in London.
The Key then opens up its doors to The Hat Club for a night of funky, dirty, chunky House. Don’t forget to don your best hat if your planning to party with these guys. The Hat Club is not only its own night but also its own fashion - HATS!!!!
