mixtape presents BREAKBOT (Ed Banger)
Friday 22nd January
Breakbot - aka Parisian Thibaut Berland - crafts party tunes. Big ones. He’s mastered the art of melting together all the best elements of dance, electro and funk with skill and precision.
Born in the early eighties, Thibaut was immersed in the sights and sounds of the decade, and remained appropriately pulled between his love of animation, graphics (He helped So-Me on the design of the Justice debut album cover, as well as creating and directing several animated commercials and music vids) and music.
Since then he’s remixed for Pacific!, DatA, Late of the Pier, Metronomy, Pnau, Fatlip, Digitalism, Van She, with his remix of Justice's 'Let There Be Light' appearing on their Japanese 'Waters of Nazareth' 12".
Thibaut now cooks up choice cut electronic music, experimenting with beats, layers, keyboards, vocals, and Daft Punk-esque get-yo-funk-on basslines. And was recently describes as “Dude’s basically Justice if they wrote songs about the beach and summertime and pool parties and shit instead of the whole epic religious/heavy metal imagery they’ve chosen to embrace instead.”f
Currently working on his upcoming EP - expect big things. Watch this space...kids will be wearing designer Breakbot tees when he makes the next D.A.N.C.E.
