Dresscode feat Moniker Live Pa

  • DRESSCODE All of us at Habit are really excited about this months party, featuring local favorite's Moniker and Christian Mora. Resident duo Bells & Whistles will ease you into the night with their saultry Deep Tech House sound, perfect for setting the mood. Up next, Christian Mora will take over the decks, and push the dance floor to the next level. And finally, Moniker will finish off the night right with their truly unique and captivating live set. Hauling a smorgasbord of analog gear to the top of the Sir Franics Drake Hotel, these two musical pioneers will perform a perfect dance of inspiring melodies, backed by a constant rhythm of musical experience. So on this cold December night, remember that heat rises to the 21st floor of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. MONIKER (Live PA) (Auralism Records) Moniker came into being in 2007, the mutated incestuous child of Kenneth Scott and Emilio Orlandi. A conversation about vintage analog gear while soaking up San Francisco's late night techno sounds brought them together in the studio, leading to incessant knob twiddling and all night jams. They both come from different and varied musical backgrounds. Emilio is a Bay Area native, active in the SF underground house/techno scene for over ten years, Kenneth grew up in Iowa listening to IDM and Chicago House. They strike a balance in their collaborations, Kenneth's digital tangents being tempered by EO's chunky analog foundations. Their DJ sets are sweaty jacking affairs, psychedelicly fun, intellectual and dirty. Expect the same from their gear heavy live sets. After getting his start in 1995, he began to make a name for himself by playing undergound parties, mantaining residencies, and organizing full-moon parties all across Mexico. After making the move to San Francisco in 2000, he started working at the now defunct Nemesis distributor, helping to service dance music stores across the states as well as his own record store. By melding Techno and House into his own signature blend, his good ear and taste for music has allowed him to DJ not only in Mexico, but Spain, Holland, Japan and the across the States. Today he is part of Bang the Box along with Solar and Lance Desardi which is a monthly event as well as a bangin' Underground. In addition, he and Sammy D are bringing LoveLetters, a monthly that is all about the Underground sound.
