    Lineup

Please join the Classic Album Sundays Adelaide team at our next event following our hugely successful Bowie session in Sept to enjoy the works of Kate Bush in full, immersive, high fidelity sound. For this installment of Classic Album Sundays we will be playing her 1st album "The Kick Inside". What's Classic Album Sundays you ask? Classic Album Sundays is a global movement dedicated to the presentation of classic vinyl records, played through a hand-picked Hi Fi system, front to back, for the pleasure of an audience who might not otherwise get to experience these records in this way. The intention is to provide sounds that are in-keeping with those originally produced by the artists involved and played as the artists intended.

  • As mentioned above, our next installment of Classic Album Sundays will see us focus on the works of Kate Bush and in particular, her 1st Album "The Kick Inside". Bush's eclectic and experimental musical style, unconventional lyrics, and literary themes have influenced a diverse range of artists. But....did you know which band member from one of the worlds biggest "Prog" bands helped produced her demo tape before being signed by EMI? Do you also know what Kate Bush song became the 1st ever no.1 hit in the UK that was written & performed by a female vocalist....& that this nearly never happened? To find out the answers to these questions & much more, please join us to listen to one of her best albums on our world class Hi-Fi system, front to back as the artist intended. More info on Classic Album Sundays.... Classic Album Sundays was founded by Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy. Murphy is a radio host (having hosted shows since 1982 and having produced widely syndicated radio shows in the USA); an international audiophile DJ (protegé of David Mancuso and Francois Kevorkian and Director of London's Lucky Cloud Sound System); music producer and remixer (remixes for The Rapture on DFA and producing Wild Rumpus with guitarist Gary Lucas of Captain Beefheart and Jeff Buckley fame); independent label owner and a music journalist. In her younger years, Murphy worked for a number of well-known record shops, where she amassed far too many records. CAS currently holds regular classic-album listening sessions in London, New York, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Oslo, Sydney and many more cities (now Adelaide). As it has touched upon a cultural nerve with its mission of challenging the way we listen to music in the 21st century, CAS has received amazing coverage in BBC Breakfast TV, The Guardian, Elle Magazine, NME, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and more.
