South London based label Hyperdub celebrates it's 15th birthday at Village Underground with an all star lineup that spans the label's history and future.
For the first time playing together in the UK, label head, DJ and producer Kode9 goes back to back with South London legend, and one of the oldest friends of the label, Mala, for an exclusive 2 hour b2b set. Teklife co-founder and footwork originator, DJ Spinn, whose new EP Da Life is released the same day as the show, flies over from Chicago for his first set in London in 5 years. Scratchclart and Lady Lykez bring their energetic mc / dj combination for maximum dance floor destruction, while Cooly G and Okzharp combine the house flavours of London and South Africa in a back to back set. The night will also be graced by UIQ label boss and Hyperdub artist Lee Gamble, young Edinburgh producer and DJ Proc Fiskal, known for his intricate hi speed amalgams. Finally two of Hyperdub's newest and most exciting signings also play on the night; we have a live performance from Loraine James who's widely praised album 'For You And I' was recently released, and a set of ruff Kuduro from Nazar, who's hotly anticipated debut album is due in 2020.
