Chicago house originator Lil’ Louis has been on our wish list since Pyg opened nearly eleven years ago. Born in Chicago to a legendary blues artist, Bobby Sims, Louis is as integral to his home city’s house history as Frankie Knuckles, the Warehouse or Ron Hardy. Records such as ‘Lonely People’, ‘Video Clash’ and ‘French Kiss’ - which sold over 6 million copies worldwide - have elevated Louis to a rare position, a household name amongst dance music fans, and considered by many the true Founding Father Of House.
Michael Mayer treated us to some of the best nights of music we've witnessed. We are delighted that he's returning at the end of October. One of the most influential around- Michael Mayer, boss and co-founder of Cologne's seminal Kompakt label (celebrating 20 years this year). Always distinctive and yet wildly multi-faceted, Kompakt has, throughout its continuing evolution, represented mind blowing big room techno, leftfield pop experimentation and chin-stroking shoegaze.
We are very happy to have Simian Mobile Disco at Pyg again with a special 2 hour DJ Set. With their label Delicacies going from strength to strength - collaborations with the likes of Bicep & Cosmin TRG, remixes from talent such as Trevino & Mike Denhert, they are managing to showcase the best that the Techno/House scene has to offer. Fresh off the back of recent gigs at Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson we are looking forward to a night of forward thinking electronic music from the duo.
