We are back in Hackney in our favourite basement with the blissful and banging Audiotechnik system of The Glove that Fits. Every artist we’ve invited has been part of the null+void story, contributing a podcast to our radio show and blog. Most significantly each has a killer live set ready to share.
We first connected on the launch of Parker’s label Structure an impressive 11 track compilation in 2011 which featured a ream of bass powered works with some of the UK’s most interesting rave producers. It’s her own weighted and singular production style that has always been closest to our hearts though, using field recordings to build up her sonic pallette Parker’s sound system music is pure skull shattering material. Last year also notably saw the Structure boss release on Hessle Audio getting some much deserved praise in the music press and from DJ peers.
One of the three members of L-R we invite Monoak to share his poly-rhythmic percussions. Resident of Freerotation festival his sets have always been highlights for us working between techno and junglist forms. Double MPC action yo!
Connecting around his Hierophant Dubs series since these records are constantly on Kirsti’s player. This year his tracks have been landing on Exalt Records showing off his deft and deep productions. Modular synthesis from another world.
null+void founder Kirsti will be opening and closing the night, working through the warmer, down tempo part of her collection at the beginning and enjoying the upper BPMs at the end.
As usual we ask you to arrive early. Live sets start from 10pm - doors open 8pm and the sound system turns off at 1.30am.
