Red Bull Music Presents Aqua Dominatrix Flesh Album Tour, an audio-visual live show that combines musician Akshay Rajpurohit’s dark synth-pop with visual artist Moebius’s (Nikunj Patel) metaphysical linework. The show first debuted at Magnetic Fields in December 2018. This is the first time it will be previewed in a club environment, travelling to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Aqua Dominatrix’s Flesh album has been described as “synth-pop with all the gloss and shine rubbed off, its bright, uplifting synths offset by methamphetamine-laced drum loops and ominously pulsing bass lines. Armed with an enviable array of synthesizers, samplers and drum machines, Rajpurohit has created a grungy, neon-lit soundscape.” [Bhanuj Kappal, Live Mint]

About the Artists - Aqua Dominatrix is producer Akshay Rajpurohit’s pseudonym for an electronic avatar comprising of free floating Synth¬Pop, verging on Techno. Akshay is also a part of popular metal bands Scribe and Pangea. Aqua Dominatrix sees him leap out of his comfort zone into a world of analog synthesis. After the debut release of a 12 -track album ‘Sadomist’, he released his second successful album, ‘Overthrowing Magnus’ in October 2016 and toured 3 cities in India with packed shows.
About the Visuals - "The Visuals for the “Flesh” tour have been designed with the idea of representing evolution of humans first as a body, then as a mind, and then, hinting to the metaphysical. The treatment merges organic imagery with geometric linework creating contrast between sharp and soft to match the tonality of Aqua Dominatrix’s arrangements. There’s a lot of scale play, transporting the viewers from a micro to a macro scale. The show is mostly black and white with hints of gold, red and blue but used very subtly. The artwork for the tour is a composite of some of the frames from the content created for the live set. The idea would be to show scale play and also the contrast between geometric and organic.”
