Nick Curly (GER)
As one of the main protagonists behind the so-called Mannheim sound, Nick has exploded on to the scene in 2008 with a string of releases on Cecille, 8Bit, murmur and Supernature - with the recently released ‘Dubnoise’ EP and ‘Television’, in particular, proving absolutely huge with DJ’s around the world.
Not content with simply making great music, as the owner of the Cecille and 8Bit labels, Nick has developed a talent as a taste-maker and overseen an amazing year for his labels as releases from the likes of Johnny D, SiS, Markus Fix, Robert Dietz, Lemos and Kreon have propelled many of these artists on to the global stage.
His work on his own labels as caught the eye of many and as a result the next months hold in store output on Liebe*Detail, Get Physical, Mobilee and murmur. In the biggest news of all, his debut album on, naturally, Cecille Records is due to hit in spring 2009.
Djulz started his career in 1992. He quickly got a personal style that turned him into one of the leading French djs. His music is at the crossing of House and Deep Techno with strong acid and funk influences. Djulzs sets demonstrate mixing skills and eclecticism - the hallmarks of any big D.J.
His reputation quickly spread to all other Europes major clubs: Caf dAnvers, Fuse, Food, (Belgium),Plastic people, The End (U.K) , Chemistry, Mazzo, Nighttown (Holland) and Space, Pacha, Km5 (Ibiza)
Since then Djulz has been spreading his sound around the world: London, Moscow, Tokyo, Hong-Kong, Bogota started international monthly residency in Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam and plays regulary in some of the world best clubs such as Womb in Tokyo, Panorama Bar in Berlin ,Goa Madrid, Back 2 Basic in Leeds and above all Londons Fabric.
As a producer, Djulz is currently gaining respect from the major Djs, having records such as the underground hit Acid trix on Ovum or his latest remixes of the classics Computer Madness and Jesus loves the acid , in the box of Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox , Mr C, Carl Craig, Derrick Carter, Tiefschwarz, Silicone Soul, Ivan Smagghe and Steve Bug to name a few.
