Classic Album Sundays New York City, the communal active listening sessions founded by Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, revisits this all-time classic. We invite you to take a seat in front of the hifi, listen and learn with your hosts, Paul Raffaele & Barbie Bertisch, founders of Love Injection Fanzine. Join us monthly on a Sunday to unpack some of the most iconic LPs in existence.
Andi Harriman is a writer and DJ living in New York City with an emphasis on all things dark and Eighties-centric. She is the author of the book Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace: The Worldwide Compendium of Postpunk and Goth in the 1980s and her writing has appeared in the Village Voice, Noisey, Bandcamp Daily, Electronic Beats and LA Weekly, to name a few, while acting as contributing editor to Post-Punk.com.
Harriman was published in Leipzig in Schwarz: 25 Jahre Wave-Gotik-Treffen and wrote the foreword for the book Gothic Romandie 1985-1995: La Décennie Noire. In 2017, she co-curated a photography show titled “Nick Cave Smoking” in Los Angeles with Lethal Amounts Gallery. She lectures regularly about the goth subculture and has appeared at Morbid Anatomy Museum, New York University and Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany. Her endeavors have been featured in Time Out New York, the Village Voice, Refinery 29, and Red Bull Music Academy Radio. Additionally, she runs the dark electronic party and label Synthicide.
Please note this is a seated event starting at 12 (noon) sharp, kicking off with context music and a proper introduction. Full album playback starts at 1pm. Food and drinks will be available, and anyone who comes for CAS will get in free to the following dance party, which starts at 3pm at Nowadays.
