RA is a community of music lovers. We believe in the power of that community, and in music’s unparalleled capacity to bring people together. It’s why, in 2019, we’re determined to continue to put on events that support local grassroots charities, good causes and music initiatives around the world.
Our ravelove series will host four parties a year in London, New York, Los Angeles and Berlin. Each event will take place on a Thursday and will raise vital funds for a local grassroots charity. On February the 21st, we’re back at El Cid for the first time since Community Connections in 2017. We’ll be joined by Avalon Emerson, Jackie House, Lovefingers, Kelman Duran and Chris Cruse.
Every cent made will be in aid of REACH LA, a long-running nonprofit that works with young LGBT people of colour, aged 16-29, providing artistic, social and sexual health services. REACH LA provides free HIV testing, mental health resources and also hosts weekly dance workshops, along with the annual Ovahness ball, which is the biggest vogue ball on the West Coast. REACH LA seeks to build “a community of urban youth, where color, race, gender, sexuality, and health status are no longer the determining factors of success, and where insight, creativity, and boldness to challenge the status quo are the drivers.”
Tickets are $10, more on the door. Capacity is limited to 150.
See you there.
