Dalston’s party institution, The Superstore, will play host to Amnesty’s Protect The Human opening party. The merriment kicks off at 4pm with a photo exhibition, Oxfam record sale and Amnesty cake sale. The evening’s musical entertainment will be in the form of The Bring or Buy Jukebox – where you supply the records and your £1 per play donation goes to Amnesty. So expect a bizarre selection of everyone’s favourite Saturday evening hits! Feeding the dance floor downstairs will be three top London jocks. Toby Tobias brings his disco-tinged house music, Big Daddy supplies some of those wonky Playtime grooves and Ian Robinson brings a slice of the mighty Trailortrash party into play. Debauchery!

The Bring or Buy Jukebox:
We urge YOU to bring along a vinyl. Or buy one at our very reasonably priced Oxfam record stall on the day. Select a track from it and hand it over to one of our jukebox DJ's to play for you. This is not DJ'ing made lazy! This is involving! You making the party. £1 donation per record, ALL proceeds to Amnesty International. Everyone’s a winner.

Protect The Human Week aims to promote awareness of Amnesty’s Dignity Campaign – which works to end the human rights abuses that are a cause and a consequence of poverty. Poverty is not just a matter of lack of income – it is a matter of lack of security, inclusion and participation.

We are ordinary people from around the world standing up for humanity and human rights.
Our purpose is to protect individuals wherever justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied.
