B.Traits presents Paciphonic, a multi-sensory event that explores a higher state of consciousness through a combination of ambient and minimalist music, sound and frequency activations, and gentle group meditation. Joining B.Traits will be Japanese electro-aquatic musician Tomoko Sauvage, 90's ambient pioneer and sleep science coach Tom Middleton, sound artist & vibrational practitioner Tracie Storey (10 Sui), and leading luminaries in the field of healing sound Tim Wheater & Cherub, joined by music virtuoso Aaron Horn.
Paciphonic will take place in the newly rediscovered and renovated theatre space at Evolutionary Arts Hackey (EartH) in Dalston. The venue features the first permanent installation of L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound Technology, creating a complete 360 degree auditory experience.
Over the past decade Tomoko Sauvage has been working on a “natural synthesizer”, combining water, ceramics, hydrophones (underwater microphones) and electronics. Through primordial elements augmented by technology, enlivened by ritualistic yet playful gestures, Sauvage's work contemplates, tunes and connects both the material and the immaterial, keeping a fragile balance between hazard and mastery. Her latest album ‘Musique Hydromantique’ alludes to hyromancy, the ancient method of divination by means of water.
Award winning composer Tim Wheater and pioneering sound artist Cherub are dedicated to exploring and teaching the transformational powers of sound. With 25 widely acclaimed albums, Tim Wheater has performed alongside some of the finest renowned authors, healers and spiritual teachers including Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsch, Julia Cameron, James Redfield and more recently the Dalai Lama. Through naturally occurring binaural beats and pulsating tones, they demonstrate how high frequency sound can measurably affect brainwave activity and impact the nervous system; engaging relaxation and inhibiting stress. Their latest collaboration with music producer Aaron Horn aims to form a connection between live healing harmonics and ambient electronic tones to create soothing meditative soundscapes.
Pioneering polymath of electronic and ambient music, and founding member of Global Communication, Tom Middleton has recently added Sleep Science Coach to his many credentials. Tom’s most recent album ‘Sleep Better’ is scientifically designed to slow heart and breath rate to lower stress and aid pre-sleep relaxation for better sleep quality and duration. Tom has worked alongside cognitive neuroscientists and regularly talks on the subject of how to Sleep Better using the latest sleep hygiene research. Tom notably discovered and worked with Aphex Twin on his debut release, and the former designer and orchestral cellist, DJ, broadcaster and remixer has notched up over 650 releases, toured 49 countries and performed to millions. His social mission is to impact billions with a soundtrack to live, work, move, relax and sleep better using the principles of psychoacoustics, music and behavioural psychology, cognitive neuroscience and entrainment.
Tracie Storey aka 10 Sui has a full spectrum approach to sound; DJ/Producer, Sound Designer, Broadcaster and former R&D advisor to Pioneer DJ. Heralded as the ‘First Lady of Breaks’, formerly at Ninja Tune, she has worked with Coldcut and Hexstatic on pioneering tech-lead activations and as a radio show host for Ministry Of Sound. As a DJ championed by Stanton Warriors, also produced sound design for Underworld’s ArtJam installation in NY. These experiences offered insight into the transformational power of sound which led her to embrace sound & vibration as a life calling. She has spent the last 7 years training as a Vibrational Sound Practitioner exploring the therapeutic properties of Bio Resonance, Sound Meditation and Qi Gong. Notably hosted the first ‘Power of Sound’ panel at BMC 2018 with Felix Jaxx and is preparing to release a collection of meditation tracks.
