FOLD presents: Warning with D.I.E. / DJ Normal 4 / The Pilotwings (Live) / J-Zbel (Live)

  • We are incredibly happy to announce a WARNING edition at new hotspot FOLD London, UK. In FOLD we find a partner simpatico - they really know how to “Rave Safe" :) Like the hovering soviet sputniks - our crew picks up far out sounds from across the globe. Prepare yourself for a spectral spread of intergalactic sound waves and passionate transmissions : Ece Özel (Müstesna Records / Istanbul) Ece Özel is resident at the city’s MiniMüzikhol and one of the best kept secrets of the town. Mixing ambient, experimental lo-fi electronic sounds from Turkey, along with contemporary, left field electronic rave cuts, Özel is a ballsy, timeless selector. The Pilotwings LIVE (BFDM / Lyon) The Pilotwings aka Guillaume and Louis are part of the Lyon based “Brothers From Different Mothers” collective that guested at our Start Up party in Berlin 2017. We guess it’s not necessary anymore to lose a bunch of words as a few google klicks and the international music press will tell you the story about those guys. Expect heavy tropical Voodoo beats paired with 91 breaks and a big portion of library sounds. The new live set will be joined by bad boy Lastrack aka Axel who will treat the guitar like Mark Knopfler on Acid. Gigsta (Cashmere Radio / Berlin) b2b S Ruston (Lecken / Berlin) These two Berlin girls were part of our 2018 edition at ://about blank Berlin convincing everyone that heard them we must jet them to London. Even though they haven't appeared in the combination before we are happy to present a b2b which we expect to be as surprising and joyful as a Kinder egg. Gigsta is touring a lot besides hosting a show on Berlin's Cashmere Radio while Sophie Ruston co-hosts the “Lecken” (Licking) queer party in Berlin and is resident at the infamous “Pornceptual” party. J-Zbel LIVE (BFDM / Lyon) We have another stone cold underground superstar on board, also from our well respected brothers from different mothers. Their 7 Inch debut on BFDM was a milestone in 2016 and is still an iconic record for the revival of the british Rave sound we all love so hardily. Be prepared for finest Korg M1 madness, a bunch of classic samples, dolphin trance arpeggios, slightly distorted Kickdrums and a a full battery of classic Rave Breaks. By the way: their new album is in the making, it’s going to be huge and you’ll have the chance to catch some impressions before it’s official release. XTC feeling guaranteed. Detroit In Effect (MAP / Detroit) Uff, yer, it’s true - we will be joined by D.J. Maaco - one of the “old guard” out of Detroit. Active as a DJ since the 80ies he will convince us with the best possible mixture of Michigan block party style and true Electro from the vaults of his collection. D.I.E. got famous in the mid 90ies and their records are a must have in every diggers collection which is focused on true US Electro and above. Maaco is a very grounded person and we are super happy to have him on board furthermore he is a super skilled and trained DJ with true scratching, juggling and mixing techniques. Be prepared to shake your booty like it’s 1996 again. DJ Normal 4 (Aiwo rec. / BFDM / Klasse Wrecks / Düsseldorf) Warning maestro and Aiwo top dog - Tim Schumacher aka DJN4 is a one man rave renaissance. Channeling fresh breaks and UK sirens from a dug out in western Germany. Many time player at infamous Salon Des Amateur - the Düsseldorf don is often found alongside fellow local Jan Schulte aka Bufiman with whom he recreates 'The Five Elements' in sonics. Killer remixes marked the man's ascension (Dekmantel, Especial). Now he is found in bright constellation - radiant EPs on Klasse Wrecks, BFDM and Second Circle (affiliate label of Music from Memory) affirm his fixture in the stars. Rave Safe. FOLDs resident space shaman Sultan Shakes completes the bill... +++Fold operates a strict 21+ and ID check at the door policy+++ please make sure to bring your ID for a smooth entry.
