  • The 38th Π party, the birthday edition, will take place at OHM Berlin on Friday the 5th of October. Pi electronics label head in collaboration with Elenaou will organize a mad celebration for their 30th birthday, an ode to the club culture and underground sound, blended with a nostalgic reminiscent and celebration of youth. The night will open Nova Bruise b2b with Meredith Hunter - a complimentary duo of similar wavelength and eclectic taste in music. Nova Bruise’s sets are intelligently crafted, full of evocative and infectious grooves. Instead of being defined by any one genre, she created her own lane and sound, masterfully blending the vibes of techno, house, breakbeat and has a soft spot for acid, Italo-disco, electro and experimental sounds. Similarly, Meredith Hunter mixes a wide range of styles and genres. His sets tend to engage the audience with a mix of eclectic sounds that vary from Post-punk and Synth-wave to House, Techno, EBM and Electro. Alienata will crush the party to excite the audience and take the walls down - Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, jackbeat, cosmic jazz, break beats and crazy sounds in general. A former philosophy student with a particular interest in mysticism, Alienata began DJing in 2000. Her earliest contact with Germany's dance music scene came through Leipzig's Homoelektrik collective, and upon moving to Berlin in 2011, she quickly found an adoptive family in the Killekill label and associated Krake Festival. Currently she is launching a new record label called Discos Atónicos where she can materialize all its varied influences. After dancing to the moon and back, this live set will set the tone and prepare the field for the sunrise. MBasix, a versatile, multifaceted artist trained as a classical musician and experimenting on the edge of audio compositions since the birth of rave in the early 90s will take us on a journey. His presence in Greek bands such as ‘Lefki Symphonia” and “Purple Overdose” in the late 80s and early 90s, his avant garde jazz days in the 90s and his electronica experience in the early 00s has brought him to techno nowadays, carrying a diverse and mature music repertoire. The penultimate dj set will be by the long time friend and partner in crime, the Rotterdam-raised, Berlin based Charlton. Charlton’s inventive style of producing tracks from the early 2000s combined techno from “the old days” with his own dark off-beat rhythms. Adding nasty razor-sharp and hypnotizing acid basslines to this creating a truly unique, ‘Charlton’ sound. His music can be found on big techno labels such as Mord, Krill and his own, co-founded imprint, Poverty is Violence.
