A night in the Basement @ Garage #2
We’re incredible proud to invite VARG to perform a live set! VARG has played major festivals and venues such as Dekmantel, Berghain, Bassiani and Berlin Atonal to name a few… and now he’s coming to DOT! He runs the brilliant Northern Electronics label (with Abdulla Rashim) and has also several releases on other labels including Semantica and Posh Isolation.
He is a mysterious figure from the depths of the Swedish techno underground, and his performances are cryptic, dark, experimental… so let’s see what happens!
VARG is the kind of act that is better experienced than explained, but this attempt to sum it up will give you a hint:
«It takes a vandal's logic of intuition to make (his) work, let alone make it this thrilling. But if you can break into the penthouse, you may as well stay and coerce the havoc with a bottle of someone else’s champagne in hand. And, yes, you should be suspicious of what you know you haven't seen—it's obviously intimidating.»
Karolinksi plays minimal, dubby, groovy and atmospheric techno. In addition to DJing, she produces dub techno and this year she will release her first album on her own label FFDR - FJORDFJELLOGDALER. We’re curious, maybe we’ll hear some of her new tracks in her set!?
DOT founder and resident Ida provides storm style techno with an acidic tilt, both hypnotic and heavy in hard-hitting bass. She mixes up new out-of-the-box releases with old gems, and has an ear for the darker corners of techno…
To secure the proper experience we also have our resident illuminator VJ JON EIRIK SIRA on board for light design! Those who have seen his work on previous DOT nights know to expect the unexpected. Is the basement at Garage in for a transformation?
