Returning to Egg LDN on Friday 29th June, Pete Tong headline the Middle Floor with Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr and emerging electronic duo PAX.
Pete Tong needs little introduction. As a household name in dance music, Tong has been around for over 20 years earning an acclaimed status as the voice of BBC Radio 1’s dance music programming, a legendary tastemaker in the globe’s new wave of electronic talent and an overall industry icon. After multiple shows at the club, Tong returns with a library brimming with productions which reflect the approach to his radio show curation - a plethora of jackin’ house & electronic cuts, tinged with spirited crowdpleasers from new and established talent. Never a dull moment in set from UK dance music ambassador, it’s a solid highlight on the Egg LDN Friday night agenda.
Born in Napoli and now based in East London, Riva Starr joins the line-up with a robust library of chunky house and bass driven tech house. As head-honcho of Snatch! Records, Starr has been responsible for giving artists like Pirupa and DJ Sneak their big break, as well as earning support for his own productions from the likes of Adam Beyer, Davide Squillace and of course, Pete Tong. With a heavy touring schedule covering Perth to Detroit, a London based event with Starr is well overdue.
Producing under their PAX moniker, Aaron Taylor and Charles Robinson are the latest emerging talent to come from Leicester. Releasing on labels spanning Elrow, Toolroom and Glasgow Underground in the last number of months, the pair have a slew of gigs across Europe, Vegas, South Africa and more already under their belts. If the likes of Solardo and Leftwing & Cody have tipped them as ‘ones to watch’, PAX are undoubtedly set to soar this year.
