Father Music Mother Dance presents…a night of dedicated to melody, community and charity.
London has seen a shortage of nights aiming to achieve positive change in positive ways. Father Music Mother Dance aims to bring together a community to enjoy all kinds of music and dance, and in the process remain optimistic about the world and our ability to help change it.
Street Child and Prostate Cancer UK both do amazing work to combat the difficulties people experience across the world – difficulties they too often have little control over. By throwing this party, we aim not only to create a welcoming space where people can enjoy themselves, but also to raise money for these charities to continue their work relieving the pressure on others less fortunate.
To bring plenty of musical warmth and energy, we’re thrilled to welcome Mr Assister down to share his record collection with us. Fresh from a New York tour at the end of last year with the likes of James Blake and Joy Orbison, he’ll be bringing the finest vinyl from his new label BEAM along with some of his personal favourites to keep us celebrating all night long.
Alongside him, the Houseplants DJs will be sharing their vegetation and excellent musical tastes throughout the night. With Father Music Mother Dance Residents warming things up, its sure to be a night to remember!
So come through with your best moves and finest attitude – and help Father Music Mother Dance make the world a better place!
Throwing intimate parties around the world with 1-800 Dinosaur from 2014, Mr Assister has been quietly crafting his unique blend of tribal percussion and atmospheric rhythms ever since. Following his irresistible debut ‘Bala’, his focus turned to his own record label, BEAM, where he continues to release pioneering music as well as throwing the odd party for good measure. We’re thrilled to have him come and share his extensive musical knowledge with us.
Since their inception in 2017, Houseplants have brought vegetation appreciation into the spotlight with sweet green-fingered grooves and exceptional funk. We're honoured and excited to have them holding down the ones and twos at the first Father Music Mother Dance party.
