3hd Festival is on again, running November 22 to 25. Happening at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, and OHM Berlin, as well as the internet — the program explores the viability of acting outside of the status quo with its theme “Whatever You Thought, Think Again”. Performances, panels and workshops will travel the gamut of experience and adversity around themes of visibility, feminism, empowerment and community. Artists like Colin Self, Petit Singe, Abyss X, Farai, Tabita Rezaire, M.E.S.H., Anja Kaiser and more, are taking part in the four-day event series of installations, concerts, performances, panels, workshops, and online commissions, as well as a survey examining music, art and society where it intersects with science.
The emancipatory promise of art, the internet and globalization appears to have failed us in the face of rising xenophobic populism in a backdrop of looming economic, political and ecological disaster. 3hd 2017 gives voice to radical strategies and environments for the creative community, proposing an anecdote to an international crisis point, where establishing autonomy, ownership, and independence is key to securing a better future for Berlin, and the world.
3hd Festival is curated and organized by Daniela Di Seitz and Anja Weigl of Creamcake, in cooperation with HAU Hebbel am Ufer, and made possible with the support of Musicboard Berlin.
