Loudmouth with loud hands.
A native San Franciscan, Qzen started DJing drum & bass a decade ago and opened up over the years to play house and an assortment of electronic music on her now defunct radio show, Moxie Musik. Her passionate music geekery landed her a five-year stint as the dance and electronic music programmer for iTunes, but before she influenced the digital music market, she was making her voice heard by collaborating with John Tejada, which produced hit tracks like “Sweat (On The Walls)” and “Sucre." Then she spent a few years working with the 40 Thieves, a new disco outfit whose cover of “Don’t Turn If Off” continues to spread its magic. In 2009, Qzen appeared at Decibel Festival in Seattle and created a live set of her own material, which led to an appearance at MUTEK Argentina. She spent six months in Buenos Aires, DJing regularly at the most well-respected clubs, then returned north to collaborate with Mossa for a performance at 2010’s MUTEK in Montreal. In 2011, her first productions under her own name were released. She currently lives in Berlin where she continues to work on collaborative projects and original music and DJ around Europe and North America. Her favorite thing remains moving audiences through the art of DJing.
