Ben Seagren is at the forefront of the San Francisco Electronic Dance Music scene showcasing a diverse unique sound ranging from large rooms to dark and dirty afterhours. He landed in San Francisco leaving the brights lights of Manhattan in 2000; bringing with him heavy NYC influences such as Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, Little Louie Vega, David Morales & Junior Vasquez that are the roots of his musical experience.
In 2001, Ben formed SENSE SF, an event marketing and creative agency to take full control of his events from music to the production and marketing & promotions. He has performed, produced shows and held residencies at various venues over the years: However, he truly made a name for himself from his long standing residencies at two of San Francisco premier venues: Ruby Skye and the Endup. Ruby Skye (2008 Best Club - World Club Awards, 2006 Best Sound - World Club Awards) has solidified itself the best big room in San Francisco and a leading nightclub in the world (DJ Mag 2009 - 2 in US, 25 in World). Over his Main Floor residency since 2002 he has shared the stage with: Victor Calderone, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Burren, Loco Dice, Oscar G, Boris, Richie Santana and Peter Bailey, Ferry Corsten, Tall Paul, Scumfrog, Gabriel & Dresden, Sandra Collins and Mark Farina to name a few. The Endup has been open since 1973 and is a San Francisco house music institution where the music never stops...literally. Ben has been a 6am Sunday morning favorite since 2004 and currently produces a monthly event called 'The Show' (3rd Saturdays). These 14 hour marathon events celebrate the diversity of underground dance music as they feature music from all genres.
Ben is also one of the co-creators of The Deep End Camp at Burning Man. Running for 7 strong years, The Deep End has become one of the most well know day parties on the planet. For one week every year, The Deep End has hosted over 3,000 people on it's dance floor per day and is well known for it's incredible music, community and open bar. Ben's now legendary sets on Friday night have made him a well know Burning Man fixture. Now involved with the new Burning Man day party DISTRIKT, an invention and experiment of a few Deep End organizers of years past. Ask any one of us why, and you might get a different answer: giving back to the electronic music and alternative arts community; a desire to throw epic events year-around and furious playa day parties with open bar at Burning Man each year; an urge to provide venues for music, dancing, and other art forms; an arrested development inability to let go and an ambition to try something new; a renewal of urban & playa family. Whatever the individual reason, we're bringing our memories, experiences, desires, and skills to make DISTRIKT a collective community and event experience.
Starting back in 1994, Ben's DJ experience pushes the limits of creativity with live sampling, remixing and effects. With the recent completion of his SF based production studio, he already has been captivating crowds with his exclusive "Sense Edits & Remixes". Expect big things from Ben. He has been working hard in the studio to release his first set of original productions and remixes.
