Funkhaus is a former GDR broadcast centre built in the 1950s, located overlooking the River Spree in Berlin's east. The product of joint efforts by architects and acousticians to create a world-class broadcasting campus, the multi-purpose venue houses spaces dedicated to recording symphony orchestras, choirs, chamber and jazz ensembles, pop music and radio plays.
Funkhaus regularly hosts large-scale club events, live performances and installations. The venue also houses MONOM, an experimental performance venue and spatial sound studio. MONOM comes equipped with a high-spec 4DSOUND system, a spatial instrument that enables a physical and interactive sound environment.
The first edition, on April 30th, will feature live performances (Kamran Sadeghi, Samuel Rohrer, Moritz von Oswald) followed by late-night DJ sets (PLO Man, Textasy, Christopher Ledger).
